Karen Denise "K.D." Aubert (born December 6, 1978) who usually goes by K.D. Aubert is an American actress and former fashion model.Aubert was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and is of African-American and Louisiana Creole (African American, Native American, and French) descent, describing herself as "African-American with a dash of Creole". She grew up in California and attended San Diego State University, where she played on the Aztec softball team.She was discovered working behind the make-up counter at Macy's. She has modeled for Victoria's Secret, Noxzema, Frederick's of Hollywood, Escada and many more. She co-hosted MTV's Kidnapped and has gone on to star in several films and music videos.
Aubert is also one of the four original Fantanas, a female group of spokesmodels appearing in TV commercials for the soft drink Fanta. She is featured with her fellow Fantanas in the Maxim magazine online girl gallery and was ranked #91 and #97 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2003 and 2004, respectively. She has also been in a commercial for Bacardi and Cola.

She is most known for her work with Victoria's Secret and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.As a child she wanted to be a singer and took vocal lessons. Her career goal changed dramatically when a photographer spotted her on a Copenhagen street at age thirteen. The photographer convinced her and her parents that she would have a good chance of having a successful career as a fashion model, despite her young age. The year she turned eighteen, she relocated to New York. In 2000 the car she was riding in was hit by a garbage truck on Sixth Avenue. She broke her collarbone, her wrist in three places, and sustained injuries to her pelvis. She later received compensation from the City of New York.

The most public example was in 2003 when she was sprayed in the face with tear gas during Fashion Week in Paris together with fellow model Devon Aoki.On 21 September 2006, the American television series Six Degrees debuted on ABC with an opening scene of a character named Mae Anderson (played by Erika Christensen who is of Danish extraction), who after a night out carousing with friends, decides to hop on a garbage truck/street sweeper heading down Fifth Avenue toward Washington Square Park and take off her top, an act which gets her arrested. This bears several striking similarities with Andersen's own life, especially the car accident: The character's name, the actress's heritage, the garbage truck near Sixth Avenue, and an arrest (including scenes of her being identified by her mug shot in succeeding episodes).

Described by Tyra Banks as "the future of the modeling world",[6] Ambrosio is best known for her work with Victoria's Secret and was chosen as the first spokesmodel for the company's "PINK" line. Ambrosio is currently one of the Victoria's Secret Angels and the former face of the UK company Next.[7]
Ambrosio was born in Erechim, Brazil on April 11, 1981. Her parents, who are of Italian and Polish descent, own a petrol station.[10][6] Ambr�sio was just eight years old when she decided that she wanted to be a model, after seeing a picture of top covergirl Karen Mulder in a magazine: "I wanted to be like her", she recalls. She enrolled at a modelling class at the age of 12 and at the age of 14 she was one of 20 finalists for an elite modelling competition in Brazil.[6] Ambrosio was always insecure about her large ears and at eleven had cosmetic surgery to get her ears pinned back, though two years later she suffered complications.[11] In 2006 she appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, and said that the surgery was a bad experience and has discouraged her from ever getting plastic surgery again.

In 2005, she broke up with model Marcello Baldrini when she caught him making out with another woman at Marquee. She later dated magazine editor Steve Allain before taking up with Jamie Mazur.[28]

She is very conscious of her figure and works out with her Brazilian trainer doing the Brazilian Butt Lift, which is a mix of samba, capoeira and aerobics.[29] Ambrosio's best friend is fellow Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros.[30]

On August 24, 2008, Ambrosio and her fianc�, California businessman Jamie Mazur, had their first child, a daughter named Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur,[31] in Florianopolis, Brazil.
